DirecTV Buying 180 Connect Inc.

DirecTv is in the news again this time for the purchase of 180 Connect Inc. that based on the $1.80 per-share price for their stock price and is going to cost DirecTv around $45.9 million and it will also allow them to control its lead installer in 45 cities around the U.S.

They previously contracted thirteen companies in these cities for installations, so now this will change with the buyout in Direct TV’s favor. While 80 Connect Inc. is Englewood based and employs approximately 4,750 employees at 85 different sites, which means for DirecTV with these new employees there won’t be a need to contract to outside suppliers for installations.

What’s next for the satellite television company, sports packages and partnerships, HD and they are buying out installation companies.
