What Can You Do With A Standard Television
Everyone is now convinced that standard television programming is coming to an end in 2009 and if you are not sure about it tune in to the local channels, many of them are running a ticker tape on the top or bottom of the program to inform the viewer that the need for a converter box to continue to view their channel will be needed by February of 2009. They will also inform the viewer that the government is subsiding this and upon contacting the phone number they have set up they will receive help for the purchase of this box.
On the other hand many of these viewers have just made the easy choice to switch over to satellite TV and this is because if they have called to see what cable is for the same type of programming it changed their mind quickly and satellite is such a small cost that it is easy to rationalize it for the viewer of local channels.
Now for what to do with the standard television, if you have switched to satellite then the question is answered, you will be using it to view programs.
If you have a standard television and are replacing it with a digital or HD television to have better programming with your satellite TV package then the standard television is sitting idle.
There is no reason for that, there is nothing wrong with it, it is not broken it is just out dated, just as older computers that can no longer get on the Internet. These televisions will serve well as one for a room that might not have one now with a DVD player hooked up to it movies can be watched at any time. For the family that has children who have to wait or have limited time to play their Xbox or Play Station games for when there is not a good program on can now have their game hooked up to this television and can play as many hours as they are allowed too.
These are just some of the things you can do with the standard television that works properly but is just becoming out dated by the winter of 2009 and it beats tossing it out, it also adds enjoyment with movies in the spear room or as a screen for the children’s games and game boxes.
